My youngest son, Charlie (now 4) was born with a heart defect. The technical term is pulmonary atresia with an intact septum. Basically, he had a closed valve in his heart and a hole in his heart. Fortunately, he was born at California Pacific Medical Center where he had open-heart surgery when he was two days old. Since then, he has had three heart catheters and another open-heart surgery.
We have had amazing doctors, fantastic nurses and received wonderful care from CPMC. They all hold a really special place in my heart. For these reasons, I am donating a portion of the proceeds from my Weekly Planners & Notebooks to CPMC Pediatric Cardiology. Charlie is doing very well and we take each day as it comes.
